Auguste Rodin

Auguste Rodin was a famous French sculptor known for his works that influenced modern sculpture. He was born on November 12, 1840 in Paris and grew up in a modest family. After studying sculpture at the École des Arts Décoratifs, he began his career working for artists and craftsmen. In 1880, Rodin created "The Kiss," a marble sculpture that was a great success and made him famous. He continued to create works that were met with mixed reviews, including "The Thinker" and "The Walking Man," but he became increasingly recognized as a leading artist. In 1917, Rodin opened the Musée Rodin in Paris, where he exhibited his works and those of other artists. He died on November 17, 1917, leaving behind a significant artistic legacy. His works are exhibited in museums around the world and are considered masterpieces of modern sculpture.
